LEADERSHIP

Austin Brown

Pastor

I was born and raised in rural North Carolina. My family attended Church faithfully and I was taught the Bible at home. At the age of five, I made a profession of faith and for the next ten years I lived my life on the basis of that profession. At the age of 15, I realized that I had never truly placed my faith in Christ for my soul's salvation, but had simply gone through the motions of following Christ. On April 16, 2005, By I called on Christ, trusting Him to be my Savior and to forgive me of my sins. On that day I received His precious gift of eternal life.

At the age of 19 while working a job, I became convicted that the Lord had a different plan for my life. I surrendered to His will for my life and enrolled at The Crown College in Powell, TN, the following fall semester. It was during the first semester at Crown, that I surrendered to God's call on my life to preach. That summer I worked at Mount Moriah Christian Camp and it was there that I met my wife, Jessica.

In 2014, Jessica and I married and began to serve the Lord together. For the first two years of our marriage we served at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Helena, AL. in 2016, God led us to pastor the Church I grew up in for 2 1/2 years. In 2019, I resigned as pastor and joined the staff of Fairview Baptist Church in Athens, TN, where I served in both the the church, Christian school and camp ministry.

In 2014-2016, my wife and I lived in the Hoover area and served at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Helena, AL. During our time at GLBC, we were challenged to choose and pray for a city/county in the state of Alabama that needed a church planted in its borders. The Lord laid it on my heart to begin to pray for Hoover. Over the next six years the Lord would lead me and my family to two other ministries outside the state. In 2019, GLBC began holding a Bible study in Hoover, Alabama. We rejoiced to see what the Lord was doing in Hoover and began again to pray for Hoover. In 2022, through a series of events, the Lord began to make it clear to my wife and I that it was His will for us to go to Hoover and to pastor this church plant out of GLBC. We are excited to be a part of the Hoover community and we look forward to ministering in the Central Alabama area.
